#07 Homework Characters

It's been a long time since the last update, but I think it was worth it! As you know, at some point I decided that this project deserved to go much bigger, so after the announcement I did a few months ago, here's a list of updates!https://youtu.be/kkpEj1VTScECharacters presentation videoDurationThe current estimated duration of Homework will be 12 minutes, at a minimum (initially, I announced when I launched the campaign that the runtime was estimated to be 6 minutes). Since I initially planned it as a solo project, there were many scenes that needed to be cut, but fortunately, my growth in the 3d space and…

#06 The Building

Homework locations will be awesome: even the characters are so tiny in real life, we are committed to designing the whole scenarios of a real school, including the exterior building, the classroom, and the corridors with lockers. Outdoor School Location | Concept ArtThe story will be mainly located in the classroom, but we would like to show the school building as the beginning, as the spectator could get a better feeling about the film look. Outdoor School Location | 3D Image ProcessingDue to the character size, the human world looks amazing for them: the chairs, the tables, and the lockers will be such huge buildings…

#04 The look

One of the most important aspects of the project, apart from the storyline, is the look: Nostalgia involves the story, so that's why we decide on applying this charming look to the characters: we've designed original texture materials for the shapes as the objects-characters have been used before, including fingerprints, scratches, and other realistic physical details on them.  Eraser: different views of the character.Every element in the scenes is modeled specifically for Homework. The scenarios and characters are built with so much care, in order to get the most beautiful look in every shot. Testing lights and adding details to the classroomWe are applying the same…

#02 The Crodwfunding Campaign

At this time, I would like to tell you why I decided to launch this project through Kickstarter:This is an independent project as it gets. Naolito is just one person, with your support, you’re making it possible for me to dedicate full time to the creation of it, and if support is big enough, hiring additional professionals to make it get to the next level. Early in the story scene – StoryboardFor the last year, I’ve been using my free time to give my characters an extra dose of life thanks to animation. It comes with a cost though, while the illustration is pretty straightforward,…
